Our story
From one drone to fourteen states
Xorian Geospatial started in 2019 with a single mapping drone and one stubborn conviction: that most survey data in India was being collected slowly, at real risk to the people collecting it, and delivered in formats nobody downstream could actually use.
The founding team came from civil engineering and geospatial backgrounds rather than from aerial photography, and that shaped everything about how the company works. We were the people waiting on survey data, arguing about earthwork quantities and discovering design clashes on site. We built the company we wished had existed.
Six years on we have flown more than 480 missions across fourteen states, from highway corridors in Assam to quarries in Odisha and township developments outside Guwahati. The fleet has grown and the software has changed several times over, but the operating principle has not: the deliverable is a measurement, and a measurement without a stated accuracy is just an opinion.
2019
Founded in Guwahati
One RTK multirotor, two engineers and a first contract mapping a quarry in Kamrup.
2020
DGCA compliance and first corridor work
Pilots certified through an approved RPTO; first transmission line corridor survey delivered.
2021
Fixed-wing VTOL added
Large-area coverage capability brought 400-hectare survey days within a single mobilisation.
2022
Multispectral and agriculture practice
Calibrated crop health workflows launched for tea estates and command area studies.
2023
ISO 9001:2015 certification
Quality management system independently certified; two-person QA review made mandatory on every deliverable.
2024
Monitoring programmes at scale
Recurring construction and mining monitoring retainers became the largest part of the business.
2025
LiDAR practice established
Corridor and canopy mapping delivered through equipment partners; in-house sensor procurement begun.
Mission
To make survey-grade spatial data fast, safe and genuinely usable for everyone who builds, maintains and manages physical assets in India.
That means honest accuracy statements on every dataset, deliverables in the formats our clients actually work in, and turnaround measured in days rather than months - without ever putting a surveyor somewhere they should not have to stand.
Vision
A country where no infrastructure decision is made against out-of-date ground truth.
We want aerial survey to become the default first step on every project - not a specialist add-on commissioned once the problem has already appeared.
Accuracy you can audit
Every deliverable ships with its control network, datum, processing chain and check point residuals. If we cannot prove the number, we do not publish it.
Nobody stands where they should not
If a survey task would put a person on an unstable slope, near a live edge or at height, that is precisely the task we should be flying instead.
Open formats, always
Deliverables come in formats you can still open in ten years without paying anyone for the privilege - LandXML, DXF, GeoTIFF, LAS. You own the source data and we hand over the full project archive on request.
Say the hard thing early
If photogrammetry cannot meet your accuracy target under that canopy, we say so at the quote stage rather than at handover.
The team
Small team, senior people
The person who scopes your project is the person who signs off its accuracy statement.
Team Member One
Founder & Chief Surveyor
Civil engineer turned geospatial specialist. Signs off every accuracy statement that leaves the office.
- B.E. Civil Engineering
- Licensed Surveyor
- DGCA Remote Pilot Certificate
Team Member Two
Head of Flight Operations
Runs the flight programme, the safety case and the pilot competency framework. Former commercial aviation background.
- DGCA Remote Pilot Instructor
- Aviation Safety Management
- 900+ logged mission hours
Team Member Three
Lead Geospatial Analyst
Owns the processing pipeline from block adjustment through classification to final surface delivery.
- M.Sc. Geoinformatics
- Certified Photogrammetrist
- GIS Professional
Team Member Four
Client Delivery Manager
The person who makes sure the deliverable matches what your team actually needs to open on Monday morning.
- B.Tech Civil

Equipment
What we fly and what we process with
Aircraft, sensors, positioning and software - with an honest label on anything we operate through a partner rather than own.
Certifications
Credentials that survive a pre-qualification review
Certificates are issued per project on request - most of our government and PSU clients need them attached to the work order.
DGCA Remote Pilot Certification
All operating pilots hold current Remote Pilot Certificates issued through a DGCA-approved RPTO, with recurrent competency checks logged internally.
Type-Certified Aircraft
Every airframe we operate holds a Type Certificate under CAR Section 3 Series X and is registered with a Unique Identification Number on the Digital Sky portal.
ISO 9001:2015
Our quality management system is independently certified, covering capture procedure, processing, two-person QA review and deliverable handover.
Aviation Liability Insurance
Third-party liability cover of ₹10 crore per occurrence, with certificates issued per project where a client requires them.
Digital Sky Compliance
Every flight is filed and permitted through the DGCA Digital Sky platform, with NPNT-compliant aircraft and retained flight logs for every sortie.
Data Security Commitment
Client data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access controlled per project, and never used for any purpose beyond your engagement without written consent.
Safety commitment
No schedule has ever changed a weather limit
Aerial work over live sites carries real risk to real people. These are not aspirations - they are the conditions under which we will and will not fly, and they have cost us flying days more than once.
Request our safety policySite-specific risk assessment
Every mobilisation is preceded by a written risk assessment and method statement covering airspace, ground hazards, third parties and emergency procedures. No RAMS, no flight.
Airspace cleared before quoting
We check the Digital Sky zone map and file for permission before we send a price, so nobody discovers a red-zone problem after a purchase order has been raised.
Nobody uninvolved is overflown
Flight paths are planned to avoid overflight of people not participating in the operation, with ground exclusion zones marked and a spotter present on active sites.
Weather limits are hard limits
Published wind, visibility and precipitation limits are not negotiable, and no client schedule pressure has ever changed one. A weather day costs less than an incident.
Pre-flight discipline
Documented pre-flight inspection, battery health check, firmware verification and control-surface check before every sortie, logged and retained.
Full flight logging
Telemetry from every sortie is archived with the project, which means any question about what the aircraft did on a given day has a factual answer.
Why clients come back
Survey training, not just flight training
The team came from civil engineering and geospatial work. We understand what happens downstream of the deliverable because we used to be the ones waiting for it.
Published accuracy, every time
Check points withheld from the adjustment, residuals reported in all three axes, methodology documented. You get a number you can defend in a meeting.
72-hour standard turnaround
From last flight to first deliverable, on standard scopes. Monitoring cycles are issued within 48 hours because progress data ages quickly.
Formats your team already uses
LandXML that imports into Civil 3D first time, DWG with sane layer naming, GeoTIFF with the CRS embedded. Tested before it is sent.
Rapid mobilisation in the North-East
Based in Guwahati with crews that know the terrain, the weather windows and the permissions landscape across Assam and the wider region.
Honest scoping
Where your accuracy target cannot be met by the method you asked for, we say so at quote stage and propose something that will.
The same five steps, every project
01
Consultation
We start with the decision the data has to support. That determines the accuracy target, which determines everything else - sensor, altitude, control density and cost.
02
Planning & permissions
Airspace cleared on Digital Sky, flight plan built to your target GSD, ground control designed, and a written risk assessment issued before anyone mobilises.
03
Field capture
Control observed, automated missions flown in the right weather window, and coverage verified on site before the crew demobilises.
04
Processing & QA
Block adjustment, classification and surface generation, then a two-person quality review against check points that never entered the adjustment.
05
Delivery & support
Files in your formats through a secure link, a walkthrough call with your team, and 30 days of support on the dataset as standard.
Work with us
Whether it is a single site survey or a monitoring programme across a portfolio, the conversation starts the same way: what decision does this data have to support?
